The Y-shaped foot supports
trunnions holding the limb. Coarse focus is by rackwork cut into the limb,
moving the body tube by two milled heads. Fine focus is by short lever on
the nosepiece. On the lower limb slides a collar bearing a mirror with diameter
of 5,5 cm.
The stage is provided of rectangular traversing movements by two milled-heads
placed on the same axis, the vertical one being repeated on the left side.
The stage-plate has horizontal and rotatory motions with supports for stage
accessories on both sides; a graduated scale from 0 to 50 is signed on the
right corner.
The sub-stage with centring screws is made to carry the apparatus, with
a bayonet-catch to receive them.
There is a mahogany box with: three objectives, two signed M. Pillischer
London 1856 Uncovered Covered, one unsigned; four brass canisters signed
on the cap 2 in M Pillischer London, 1 in M Pillischer London, ½
in M Pillischer London, ¼ in M Pillischer London; four eyepieces,
a camera lucida, a Nicol's prism, a parabolic reflector.
