Case 32 x 16 x 13 cm; high c. 30 cm

This a student microscope and is represented in A. Chevalier's book, L'etudiant micrographe, Paris, 1882, plate 69. The mirror is fixed on the cast iron foot and can rotate by an universal joint. A circular pillar sustains the square table, with two clips to fix the specimen. On its left side there is the hole for the bull's eye pin. Under the table there is a circular diaphgram with holes to regulate lighting. A short horizontal limb sustains the tube; coarse focus is done by moving the tube within its sleeve, fine focus is by a micrometric knob on the pillar.
